Activities and Sports
The Belgian Transplantoux Games are organised for transplant recipients, donors, and dialysis patients. Supporters can also participate in recreational activities and initiations.
Initiations
Initiations will be provided for various sports, see the schedule here.
All registered participants can partake in these initiations, so this includes supporters. A separate program will be arranged for children.
Recreational activities
All registered participants can partake in these initiations, so this includes supporters. A separate program will be provided for children. Recreational activities include walking, cycling, and volleyball.
Competitions
Transplant recipients and dialysis patients can participate in all competitions. Supporters and donors can participate in the following competitions: pétanque, darts (joint competition), stationary bike riding, and a 5 km run. Supporters can compete for the honor and will also receive a keepsake.
There will be various categories within the competitions: transplant recipients, dialysis patients, and donors.
The program is designed to give the largest number of participants the chance to discover new activities and take part in as many competitions as possible. Note: Some activities and events will overlap! In this case, you must make a choice and only register for one event!
All event categories will have their competition on the same day and at the same time. For some sports, each category will have its own starts/heats/pools, but to save time, if possible, one start/heat may include athletes from two or more age or event categories. They will receive separate medals after the competition.
For example, depending on the number of participants, the 5 km Mini-Marathon may combine athletes from the Dialysis and Transplantation categories into one start to make the event more enjoyable and pleasant for athletes.
Wall of honour
Transplant recipients and donor families/friends are encouraged to write a message or make a card to honor those who have lost their lives and gave the gift of life to others. The wall of honor will provide an opportunity to honour these heroes and provide a place for reflection (maximum size A4)
